What’s the point in having a house? What’s the point in declaring a garden to be specifically yours? What’s the point in having your own transportation? What’s the point in property at all?

If you don’t define and protect property rights, the whole thing turns into one big fight where the strongest individuals and biggest mobs rule.

If you aren’t generous in sharing the fruits of your labor, especially with widows and children, and don’t pay your servants (“employees”) a fair wage, they will have more incentive to join together as a mob and take it by force.

A country is just a group of people who have joined together to mutually protect each others’ property and safety. If that’s not being done, what is the point?

What ties Americans together, today? What ties the inhabitants of any individual state together, today? Are we supporting each others’ businesses and private needs? Do we know our neighbors? Do we know our sportsball rosters and Amazon new releases? Do we know how to nurture and harvest our own food? Do we know how, if we were "of" our government, how to run it, or why it’s being run as it is, or if the people actually even want those things or if they were just some bureaucratic boondoggle?
