I am a concrete flatwork contractor and in the winter I do snow removal. Both of my jobs are very dependent on the weather and I have become through the years a climate and weather junkie. I begin my day every day with perusing my favorite weather sites and blogs, including detailed maps and the latest models from the US and Europe. I also keep a fairly sophisticated weather station at my home and at my brothers home several miles away. I am probably as informed as any weather person on your favorite local forecast.

I started my business in 1986 and have kept a work journal for every day of the last 38 years that includes weather conditions, temps, precipitation, wind speed and direction, barometer readings, humidity, dew point, ice conditions on my lake and whether it is an El Nino or La Nina year. I can state with proof that the weather has not changed one bit in those 37 years. Some summers are cooler, some hotter. Some are wetter and some are drier. Same with the winter.

There are no discernible trends in my data beyond those that are related to El Nino or La Nina.

In my diary I have years where I was pouring concrete outside in February. I have a day in early March 2015 that it hit 87 degrees. I have years where there was still ice in the ground in early May and years like this one where the ground hardly froze at all. I have an April 24th where it snowed 10 inches and years where spring began in late February. I have years where the snowpiles remained in the parking lots well after the opening week of baseball and years where the baseball season was delayed because of snow.

They can take their climate lies and shove them up their asses. I have the proof.
