Have you thought about getting a second opinion? I have on something this dire and got two entirely different opinions. One vet said, yes this has to be done. The second vet said , no it’s fine nothing has to be done. They all have different opinions, different experiences. You never know. Also, raw food(human or animal) has living enzymes. Cooked food doesn’t have many. MMS1 that someone recommended here would be something to consider to rub on the lump.
