Gematria have certainly seemed like they can’t be used to move from point A to point B - there’s no fixed rule for interpreting them, and if there was it would defeat the point of the action in the first place - but it does seem like both sides use them as signatures at times.

Gematria 13’s = “Jimmy wuz here”, maybe where the encoding style of the 13, or encoded number indicate the group. Encoded gang signs for mass media to mark turf, basically. “He’s dead because he crossed us, now shut up unless you want to join him.”
