I suspect this is Elon tamping down on free speech because he needs advertising dollars not to make Twitter a huge waste of money. Ultimately his concern is profit.

Already it's difficult to get any engagement on the platform without a blue check mark that makes your posts more visible.

You have the right to say almost anything you want on Twitter but it doesn't mean anyone is gonna see it.
