Back in the day waiting tables, a 5 top of business men come in for lunch. 4 white men and 1 black man. I take their order, the black man ordered a meatball sub. I put everything in at the same time. We have food runners, meaning someone else delivers the food while I'm waiting on another table in case of a lunch rush. I check in on my 5 top, and notice everyone got their plate except for the black man. I apologize profusely, saying I'll go check on his sub right away. He shouts at the top of his lungs, "it's because I'm BLACK!" ... the entire restaurant stopped and I was completely mortified. Thankfully this was before smart phones.
