1chronicles 29:10

David’s Prayer.

10 Then David blessed the LORD in the sight of the whole assembly. David said:

“Blessed are you, LORD,

God of Israel our father,

from eternity to eternity.

11 Yours, LORD, are greatness and might,

majesty, victory, and splendor.

For all in heaven and on earth is yours;

yours, LORD, is kingship;

you are exalted as head over all.

12 Riches and glory are from you,

and you have dominion over all.

In your hand are power and might;

it is yours to give greatness and strength to all.

13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks

and we praise the majesty of your name.

Threatened but Trusting

Psalm3*

1: a psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom**

2: How many are my foes, Lord!

How many rise against me!

3:How many say of me.

“There is no salvation for him in god.”

4: But you, Lord, are shield around me;

my glory; you keep my head high.

5: With my own voice I will call out to the

Lord,

and he will answer me from his holy

mountain.

6:I lay down and I fall asleep.

[and] I will wake up, for the lord

sustains me.

7: I do not fear; then, thousands of people

arrayed against me on every side.

8: Arise, Lord! Save me, my God!

For you strike the cheekbone of all my

foes;

you break the teeth of the wicked.

9: Salvation is from the Lord!

May your blessings be upon your people!

Psalm3* An individual lament complaining of enemies who deny that God will come to the rescue (Ps 3:2-3) Despite such taunts the psalmist hopes for God’s protection even in sleep (Ps 3:4-7) The Psalm prays for an end to the enemies’ power to speak maliciously (Ps 3:8) and closes peacefully with an expression of trust.

Absalom** The superscription, added later, relates the Psalm to an incident in the life of David.

Hello all,

I have signed up for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Hopefully I will become wiser to gods words and help those I encounter to see the evil that has taken over the world. I do this in the name of my mother and father. My father was Baptist and my mother Catholic. So I have decided to attempt to join the Catholic church. It will be a long and grueling trial. I’ve read the bible when I was younger, but now when I reread it I am surprised by the connections I didn’t make years ago. Pray for me friends. Hopefully by Easter I will be wiser in the ways of our lord and more able to protect the sheep I currently live with. WWG1WGA.
