Starlink satellites are for high-speed Internet to locations that don't have the infrastructure for regular Internet, or the cost is prohibitive.
These are not communication satellites.
It would have launched a couple days ago, but weather at the first stage landing site delayed things. Then they delayed again to verify some systems.
SpaceX is launching a lot - A LOT - of rockets because of their Starlink Program.
It's an IFR flight with a flight plan. It needs to be tracked so other aircraft can be moved out of the way. Standard Air Traffic Control procedure.
I believe it's from August last year.

That's a valid point. Digital communication is probably the most important form of communication, but even Starlink will only be a small portion of it. Starlink still relies on ground stations to do the heavy lifting. SpaceX is not setting up their own Internet backbone.
