As a police officer, you are trained to encourage or even seduce (as in obey your will) a suspect to transition peacefully. Don't resist. Place your hands behind your back. I will direct you. Watch you head.

This is preferable to a fight and maybe going home with new aches and pains. Or a bystander getting injured.
