President Trump paid the British Prime Minister a series of compliments, something which Sir Keir Starmer had previously said was enough on its own to debar an individual from leading the United Kingdom.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer had a two-hour dinner with former U.S. President and present Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump at the Trump Tower in New York on Thursday night. What exactly was discussed at the dinner, which was also attended by Britain’s chief diplomat and prominent Trump critic David Lammy was not disclosed, beyond the anodyne: “longstanding friendship between the United Kingdom and the United States and the importance of continuing to develop the strong and enduring partnership between our two countries”.
Hours before the meeting a British journalist asked President Trump what he thought of Sir Keir, and President Trump paid the left-wing British politician a series of compliments, including that he is “popular” at home, which while very charming is not exactly technically correct. Trump said: “I am going to see him in about an hour so I have to be nice. I actually think he is very nice. He ran a great race, he did very well. It’s very early but he is popular.”
This leaves Starmer in something of a quandary, given he had previously made clear his opinion that anyone thought highly of by President Trump isn’t fit to be Prime Minister. He had said, for instance, in 2019: “An endorsement from Donald Trump tells you everything you need to know about what is wrong with Boris Johnson’s politics and why he isn’t fit to be Prime Minister.”
In any case, the UK’s left-wing Labour government is now on what Politico calls a charm offensive to make sure it has good relations with the United States, whoever should be in the White House next year. As Starmer said yesterday before his dinner with Trump: “I’m a great believer in personal relations on the international stage. I think it really matters that you know who your counterpart is in any given country, and know them, you know, personally, get to know them face to face.”
While building bridges with the Trump team may seem like a more urgent mission, given they represent a political philosophy and worldview with which the left-wing British leader has very little in common, it is notable the Harris team could not find time for Starmer during his New York trip. Indeed, this week’s visit is the second to the United States for Sir Keir in a month and he was snubbed for meetings by Kamala Harris on both occasions, rubbishing his team’s earlier assertion that they either wanted to meet with both candidates or none.
The meeting with Trump came in the face of a barrage of criticism of the former President made by Starmer and his close allies in recent years. Beyond Starmer’s emphatic previous position that having a relationship with Trump should disqualify individuals from high political office, his deputy David Lammy — who was present at the dinner — had called Trump a “woman-hating, neo-Nazi sympathising sociopath” and a “dangerous clown” in 2018.
But not all barbs were so historic. Just this week, Starmer’s newly appointed Minister of State for Border Security and Asylum Dame Angela Eagle blamed Trump for creating an “astonishing” level of vitriol in comments about “toxic anti-immigration, anti-immigrant rhetoric”.
Speaking on Thursday after his comments in praise of Sir Keir, Donald Trump also namechecked ‘Mr Brexit’ and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, a long-time ally of the former President. He said, taking a dig at Britain’s First Past the Post electoral system which saw Reform UK take a healthy share of the national vote but a very disproportionately low number of Parliamentary seats: “I think Nigel is great, I’ve known him for a long time. He had a great election too, picked up a lot of seats, more seats than he was allowed to have actually. They acknowledged that he won but for some reason you have a strange system over there, you might win them but you don’t get them. Nigel is a fantastic person.”
While Starmer might not otherwise care to be discussed in the same breath as Farage, someone with whom he could not be said to have much in common, it is at least in part down to Mr Farage’s efforts that the UK Labour team has a relationship with the potential next President of the United States at all. As Farage had said in July of wielding what influence he has with the Trump camp in the British interest: “the fact that he [Lammy] is now reaching out to the Trump team… they asked me about it, the Trump team asked me about it.
“I said ‘yes do speak to David Lammy, even if our politics are different, our relationship with America in a world that is closer to global conflagration than it has been in 60 years is crucial’.”

The Foo Fighters have canceled their scheduled appearance at the Soundside Music Festival following frontman Dave Grohl’s infidelity scandal.
The band announced their canceled appearance in an Instagram statement posted on Thursday.
“Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information,” said the statement.
According to the New York Post, the Foo Fighters had been scheduled to perform alongside “Jack White, Greta Van Fleet, Bleachers, Norah Jones and Teddy Swims” before the band was “erased from the festival’s official website.”
While the Foo Fighters did not specify as to why they canceled the show, it comes within weeks of lead singer Dave Grohl announcing publicly that he cheated on his wife, Jordyn Blum, and fathered a daughter with his former mistress.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote on Instagram . “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
A source told People that Grohl’s cheating scandal has been a serious source of contention due to his image as a family man.
“We keep reading over and over again how heartbroken everyone is because Dave was supposed to be the ‘good guy,’ the rock star that didn’t have to do those rock star things,” the source told the outlet. “And people are crazy about the guy, but there is a rock star side.”
Another source also confirmed that Blum was “shocked” by the news.
“She was shocked when she found out about the baby. Her friends are like family, and they rallied around her,” the source said.
“Dave’s flirty behavior has been a hurdle in their marriage. It’s been hurtful to Jordyn,” the source added.
This marks the second setback for the Foo Fighters in two years following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022 due to a drug overdose.
Just weeks ago Grohl and his band made headlines after trashing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign for using Foo Fighters music.

Many social media users blasted the WNBA after it released a statement calling fans “racist” and threatening to call the police on them.
The league issued a statement slamming fans for “racist,” “derogatory,” and “threatening” behavior and vowed to put an end to it by “monitoring” fans in the stands and online.
“The WNBA is a competitive league with some of the most elite athletes in the world,” the league’s statement read. “While we welcome a growing fan base, the WNBA will not tolerate racist, derogatory, or threatening comments made about players, teams, and anyone affiliated with the league. League security is actively monitoring threat-related activity and will work directly with teams and arenas to take appropriate measures, to include involving law enforcement, as necessary.
The league’s statement followed a tirade by Connecticut Sun All-Star Alyssa Thomas, who bemoaned “racist” fans during her team’s two playoff games against the Indiana Fever and its star rookie Caitlin Clark.
Despite the claims by some players that they have suffered “death threats,” neither the leagues nor any particular team has released any examples of these threats.
Social media users and WNBA fans were not amused at the league calling them all racists. Many jumped on the WNBA’s X post to clap back at the league’s broadside at fans.
X Comments,
WNBA needs a new commissioner I’m sorry a real commissioner would not have let it get to the point where you’re putting out vague statements like this aimed at… who? Who are you talking to!?
It's like bizarro world Jackie Robinson here but with women and the white person getting discriminated against by intolerant LGBTQ+ bigots on the field! We all see it. Do better!
Is this a JOKE??!!!??
You are more concerned about comments than about the blatant attacks on the only star player you have that is bringing fans to the games
You are pathetic
These attacks on Caitlin Clark should be stopped with enforced severe penalties against the attackers
Your players are abusing @CaitlinClark22 like they are professional wrestlers and your officials are not protecting her.
The only potential racism I see is against Clark, but more than racism it is jealousy and envy at the attention she gets that they think they too deserve.
What about on-court attacks? No blood no foul?
Where was this all season with the violence against Caitlin Clark?

Vice President Kamala Harris will continue to undermine her record on Friday, this time on the issue of immigration during remarks in Douglas, Arizona.
Harris faces a conundrum: She cannot campaign on policies to fix crime, inflation, and border security without undermining the Biden-Harris administration’s policies, but she must tout the administration’s policies to validate her record and candidacy.
In a blow to Harris, President Joe Biden stated Wednesday that he delegated “everything” as commander in chief to Harris, including foreign policy and domestic policy.
Under the Biden-Harris administration, migrants swamped the border: Authorities arrested about seven million migrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border under Biden, Reuters reported.
Nearly two million known gotaways evaded U.S. Border Patrol, according to numbers released by Republicans on the House Committee on Homeland Security in April.
The illegal migrant population in the United States was 11 million in 2022, according to Pew Research Center estimates published in July, although critics estimate those numbers to be much higher.
Harris will visit the southern border invasion after Fox News polling on Thursday found more Arizona voters (15 points) trust former President Donald Trump over Harris to handle the crises. Trump leads Harris overall by 3 percentage points among likely Arizona voters (48-51 percent).
During her visit, Harris will try to improve her polling numbers by undermining her record by acknowledging the Biden-Harris administration did not properly secure the border.
Politico Playbook outlined Harris’s revised ideas:
Harris will “argue that American sovereignty requires setting rules at the border and enforcing them.”
She’ll call for more resources for border patrol agents to do their jobs.
She’ll propose new detection machines for fentanyl at border entry ports.
She’ll “reject the false choice between securing the border and creating an immigration system that is safe, orderly, and humane.”
She’ll decry “Trump’s failures as president to address this challenge and his recent efforts to kill bipartisan solutions to it” — and say that “the American people deserve a president who cares more about border security than playing political games.”
It is not clear if Harris will take any questions while in Arizona. She has held no press conferences since she entered the race in July. When asked about “specific” policy solutions to secure the southern border during last Thursday’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harris ignored the question, rambling off 441 words in about three minutes.
Winfrey had to interject to force Harris to answer the question from the audience. “So to answer Justin’s question, now that that bill has gone and hasn’t passed, will you reintroduce that?” Oprah followed up on the question. “Absolutely, and when I am elected President of the United States, I will make sure that bill gets to my desk and I will sign it into law,” Harris replied.
The establishment media raised concerns about Harris’s repeated attempts to avoid her record. Concerning immigration, for example, on Monday, Harris aides refused to tell Axios if she still supports amnesty for two million illegal aliens, or so-called “dreamers,” brought into the nation as children.

A US Roman Catholic diocese in Long Island, New York has announced a massive bankruptcy settlement under which it will pay out $323 million to hundreds of alleged survivors of sexual abuse by clergy members.
The Rockville Center reached a preliminary settlement on Thursday with about 600 plaintiffs who claimed abuse by priests as children, according to a law firm representing the survivors.
The diocese had previously offered the survivors a $200 million settlement, which they reportedly rejected.
“After nearly four years we do have a global resolution,” Corrine Ball told US Bankruptcy Court Judge Martin Glenn in Manhattan. Glenn said the deal represented “enormous progress” and that it came “within a hair’s breadth” of failure.
Rockville Center will contribute $234.8 million to the settlement fund, while four insurers will contribute $85.3 million, a spokesperson for the diocese said.
Adam Slater, an attorney who represents some 100 survivors, told News 12 Long Island that it is the largest diocese settlement in the history of New York state.
“The diocese’s goal has always been the equitable compensation of survivors of abuse while allowing the church to continue her essential mission,” Diocese spokesperson Eric Fasano told News 12.
Rockville Center, which serves about 1.2 million Catholics in Nassau and Suffolk counties, is the largest Roman Catholic diocese in the country to declare bankruptcy. It applied for insolvency in New York in October 2020, citing the cost of lawsuits filed by victims of child sexual abuse over decades-old crimes. The diocese said at the time potential payouts from the New York State Child Victims Act could leave it in financial ruin.
Over 20 Catholic dioceses have reportedly filed for bankruptcy in recent years, after New York and other states enacted laws temporarily allowing childhood victims of sex abuse to file lawsuits regardless of how long ago the alleged crime occurred.

The alleged Israeli plot to target senior members of Hezbollah through their pagers relied on explosives hidden in the devices’ batteries in a way that was nearly impossible to detect, CNN reported Friday, citing sources.
Earlier this month, a series of powerful pager explosions swept through the Middle East, killing 12 people and injuring around 3,000. The victims included numerous officials of the Lebanese-based Islamist movement. The attack was followed a day later by portable radio explosions that killed at least 20 others. Iran and Lebanon accused Israel of orchestrating the attack, a charge denied by West Jerusalem.
An unnamed Lebanese official familiar with the investigation told CNN that the explosives in the pagers were hidden inside the device in a way “so sophisticated that it could not be detected.”
Another official told the network that the materials were “laced” into the pager’s lithium battery and were virtually undetectable, adding that he had “never seen anything like it.” Lebanese officials also witnessed controlled explosions of the pagers and observed how devastating they must have been to their owners, according to the article.
An improvised explosive device is said to have five key components – a power source, initiator, detonator, explosive charge, and case. Sean Moorhouse, an explosive ordinance disposal expert, told CNN that a pager could be weaponized by adding only a detonator and an explosive. He added that near-total undetectability could have been achieved by placing the detonator and explosive material in a metal case impenetrable to imaging technology.
Numerous media reports indicate that the pagers bore the logo of the Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo. The company has vehemently denied any involvement, saying it had authorized the use of its brand on the pagers which were manufactured by a Budapest-based company, BAC Consulting. Senior Taiwanese officials also said Gold Apollo did not produce the pagers with lithium batteries which were used in the attack.
The network noted that European authorities are investigating both BAC Consulting and Norta Global Ltd, a Bulgarian-based company, for involvement in the sale of the pagers to Hezbollah.
Lebanese officials have stopped short of blaming any particular companies, saying the pagers “were tampered with from foreign entities before being delivered to Lebanon and modified to send electronic signals that led these devices to be exploded.”

President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) are announcing more executive gun controls Thursday focused on 3-D printed firearms as well as switches that convert pistols into fully automatic firearms.
Regarding 3-D printed guns, The Hill claimed such firearms “sometimes are even undetectable by metal detectors.” (The Hill did not explain how brass bullet casings and metal bullets can be undetectable.)
The White House reported that the executive gun controls from Biden and Harris will “establish an emerging firearm threats taskforce, which will be directed to issue a report within 90 days that includes an assessment of the threats of these guns, the federal agencies’ operational and legal capacities to detect and seize them, an inter-agency plan for combatting them, and what funding the administration needs from Congress to crack down on them.”
As for full-auto conversion switches for pistols, The Hill noted they are already illegal.
According to the White House, the executive gun control also “[directs] the Secretary of Education and the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Attorney General, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Surgeon General,” to outline the best practices for “school-based active shooter drills.”
Executive gun control is common ground for Biden and Harris. Biden has used it many times during his administration and, in 2019, Harris pledged, “Gun violence is the leading cause of death for young Black men in America. We must stop this. When president, I will take executive action to ensure guns do not fall into the wrong hands.”

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will announce executive gun control on Thursday and it will include $153 million in funding for states to adopt and implement red flag laws.
According to the White House:
The Department of Justice is announcing over $135 million in formula awards to 48 states under the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (Byrne SCIP), which provides funding for the implementation of extreme risk protection order, or “red flag”, programs, state crisis intervention court proceedings, and related programs/initiatives.
The White House did not say whether Biden or Harris plan to point out red flag laws have failed to end mass killing and mass public attacks in the state’s that adopt them.
For example, California adopted a red flag law in 2016, yet the state led the nation in “active shooter incidents” in both 2021 and 2023.
Florida adopted a red flag law in the wake of the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting, yet the law did not prevent an attacker from opening fire inside a Sebring, Florida, ban in January 2019, killing five people.
Red flag laws open the door for law enforcement to take away an individual’s firearms in a pre-crime confiscation scenario, based on the testimony of family members, neighbors, co-workers, spouses and/or former spouses.
Harris supports pre-crime confiscation laws.

Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) has announced that it will now allow users you have blocked to view your posts, though they still will not be able to interact with those posts. The decision is controversial amongst X users as many rely on the block feature to prevent crazy people from reading their posts.
The Verge reports that X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is making a significant change to its blocking feature. According to a recent announcement by X owner Elon Musk, users will now be able to view public posts from accounts that blocked them, although they will still be unable to engage with those posts through likes, comments, or retweets.
Currently, when a user has been blocked by another user on X, they are greeted with a “You’re blocked” message when attempting to view the blocked user’s profile. This prevents them from seeing any of the blocked user’s posts, replies, media, followers, or following list. However, with the upcoming change, blocked users will be able to view the public posts of those who have blocked them. This decision puzzles many users that specifically block others to prevent them from reading and screenshotting their posts.
A source at X told The Verge that the decision to make this change stems from the fact that people can already view posts from users who have blocked them by using another account or browsing the platform while logged out. However, several staff members at the Verge have noticed that X actually prevents users from viewing a blocked person’s profile even when logged out.
Elon Musk has been vocal about his dislike of the block button, stating last year that the feature “makes no sense” and that “it needs to be deprecated in favor of a stronger form of mute.” He even threatened to remove the ability for users to block others on the platform entirely, except for direct messages.
While the block button will still prevent users from directly interacting with a blocked account’s posts, the fact that they will be able to view these posts has raised concerns about the potential for harassment. Critics argue that this change could make it easier for bad actors to continue targeting their victims, even after being blocked.

The leaders of Germany’s Greens party have tendered their resignations following crushing defeats in local elections in the eastern states of Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg earlier this month.
Ricarda Lang, one of the Greens’ two leaders, announced on Wednesday that “new faces are needed to lead the party out of this crisis.” Her co-chair Omid Nouripour agreed, saying: “we have come to the conclusion that we need a new start.”
“The results of Sunday’s elections in Brandenburg are proof of our party’s deepest crisis in a decade,” Nouripour added.
“The goal now is not to stick to a chair, the goal now is to take responsibility, and we take responsibility by making a new start possible,” Lang said, noting that the party’s current executive board will remain in place until November, when a vote is held at the party congress.
In a key election in the state of Brandenburg on Sunday, the Greens garnered just 4% of the vote, failing to meet the 5% threshold to gain parliamentary seats. The result marked an almost seven-point drop from the last election in the state, held five years ago. Earlier this year, the party also suffered drastic losses in the European Parliament election, and in September failed to secure any seats in the state parliament of Thuringia. In Saxony, the faction barely managed to return to the state legislature, with just 5.1% of the vote.
In nationwide opinion polls, support for the Greens has dropped to 10% nationally – five points below their results in the last federal election, in 2021. Voters appear to have distanced themselves from the movement’s core message of fighting climate change, and have instead focused on issues like immigration and security, according to surveys.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, whose Social Democratic Party (SDP) is part of the so-called ‘traffic light coalition’, which includes the Greens, has said that the personnel change at the top of the Green party is not expected to have any impact on the work of the coalition government.

A whistleblower claims that the Trump campaign was “effectively forced” to “cancel” an event in Wisconsin due to the Secret Service not having “sufficient assets to secure” the rally.
In a letter addressed to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) questioned “recent public statements” made by Rowe regarding the level of protection Trump was receiving from the agency in light of the whistleblower allegations.
Hawley went on to question whether the Secret Service ever informed former President Donald Trump, “his campaign, or any related business entities” that the agency was unable to “secure a rally” held in Wisconsin and questioned whether President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris had been told the Secret Service was unable to “secure a campaign event” for them.
“I write concerning new whistleblower allegations that the U.S. Secret Service effectively forced the Trump campaign to cancel an upcoming event in Wisconsin,” Hawley wrote. “This new information calls into question your recent public statements regarding the level of security your agency is providing to the former president. It also suggests that the Secret Service’s inability to fully protect former President Trump may be affecting the conduct of the presidential campaign.”
Hawley pointed out that during a press conference on September 20, Rowe had claimed that Trump was getting “the highest level of Secret Service protection”:
At your recent press conference on September 20, you stated that former President Trump is receiving “the highest level of Secret Service protection” and “he’s getting everything” that “the current president has with respect to Secret Service assets.” That same night, Secret Service secured a rally for Vice President Harris in Madison, Wisconsin.
Hawley added that despite these claims, the whistleblower alleged that the Trump campaign had been informed by the Secret Service that the agency “did not have sufficient assets to secure a potential campaign rally in Wisconsin” for Donald Trump.
“Other whistleblowers with knowledge of Secret Service planning protocols allege that failure to provide protection for a major public event is highly unusual and that a sitting president would never be denied resources in this way,” Hawley continued.
The letter from Hawley comes as the United States Senate unanimously passed a bill to strengthen Secret Service protection for presidential candidates, a week after a second assassination attempt on Trump.

The case against Maduro’s regime was driven by the Argentine Forum for the Defense of Democracy (FADD), a collective composed of politicians, journalists, and human rights advocates who, since early 2023, have sought justice for the victims of Chavismo who have taken refuge in Argentina.
This group believes that the crimes committed in Venezuela under Maduro’s government, such as kidnappings, torture, and extrajudicial executions, should not go unpunished.
According to local media, the Argentine court, after hearing the testimonies of the victims, classified the actions of the Venezuelan regime as a «systematic plan» to repress opposition and silence critical voices.
This accusation is not new, as various international organizations have documented similar abuses in Venezuela, including reports from the UN Human Rights Council and Amnesty International.
The decision of the Argentine Justice system is based on the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows individuals responsible for heinous crimes such as genocide, torture, or crimes against humanity to be prosecuted, regardless of where the crimes occurred. This principle has been key in historic cases, such as the arrest of Augusto Pinochet in London in 1998, requested by Spain for crimes committed in Chile.
In the case of Maduro and Cabello, the Argentine court has chosen to apply this same principle, seeking a path to justice for Venezuelan victims beyond national borders.
However, this decision could also set a dangerous precedent in terms of state sovereignty, as other governments might use the same resource to pursue foreign political leaders under more ambiguous or purely political pretenses.
As expected, Venezuela’s response was swift. The Chavista regime, led by Attorney General Tarek William Saab, in turn issued arrest warrants against Argentine President Javier Milei, accusing him of «aggravated theft» for the handover of a Venezuelan plane to the United States in 2023.
This aircraft, a Boeing 747-300 from the state airline Emtrasur, had been seized by Argentine authorities in 2022 under suspicion of being linked to terrorist activities.
In a press conference, Saab labeled Milei as a «fascist neo-Nazi» and a «plane thief» and asserted that the handover of the plane «cannot go unpunished.» This inflammatory rhetoric is not unusual from the Chavista regime, which has repeatedly accused foreign governments of conspiring against Venezuela, especially those who openly criticize the electoral process and human rights violations in the South American country.
Venezuela’s Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, also announced that the country would take legal action by appointing a «special prosecutor for the protection of human rights» to investigate both Argentine President Javier Milei and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich.
«We may be facing serious human rights violations that could constitute crimes against humanity.»
Saab’s statements were broadcasted on the state channel VTV:
«This will, in the coming hours, have consequences in a competent Venezuelan court, with the respective arrest warrants issued to the competent authorities, because this cannot go unpunished.»
Javier Milei’s foreign policy has taken a sharp turn compared to the previous administration of Alberto Fernández, who, while maintaining a critical stance towards Chavismo, avoided direct confrontations with Maduro. Milei, on the other hand, has been a staunch critic of the Venezuelan regime, accusing Maduro of being a dictator and manipulating elections to stay in power.
In addition to the handover of the plane to the United States, Milei has led a series of diplomatic actions, including offering asylum to Venezuelan opposition advisors at the Argentine embassy in Caracas and expelling Venezuelan diplomats from Buenos Aires. These measures aim to pressure the Maduro regime through sanctions and diplomatic isolation.
Tensions between Argentina and Venezuela could have significant implications for regional politics. On the one hand, countries like Colombia and Brazil, which have adopted more moderate stances, may be pressured to choose sides in this diplomatic conflict. On the other hand, the growing influence of foreign powers such as Russia and China, allies of Venezuela, could further deepen polarization in the region.
The arrest warrant against Maduro and Cabello issued by Argentina raises a crucial question: Is it possible that these leaders could finally be brought to justice? Despite progress in universal jurisdiction, the reality is that without the cooperation of Venezuela and its allied countries, it is unlikely that Maduro will be arrested and tried outside of his country.
Trending: Javier Milei Denounces Globalism and Defends Freedom in His First UN Speech
However, this move is an important step in the fight against the impunity of dictators and sends a clear message: crimes against humanity will not go unpunished, regardless of borders. The confrontation between Argentina and Venezuela is not just another diplomatic dispute; it reflects a battle for the fundamental values of freedom and democracy in Latin America. Will the international community be able to enforce justice?

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is ready to break his self-imposed silence and address the Council of Europe, his organisation revealed Wednesday.
The 53-year-old would travel from his native Australia to Strasbourg in seven days to testify before a parliamentary legal committee investigating his case, AFP reports.
That means he will speak in public for the first time when he gives evidence to the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (Pace).
It comes after a Pace report into his case, which concluded he was a political prisoner and called for Britain to hold an inquiry into whether he had been exposed to inhuman treatment.
Assange spent most of the last 14 years either holed up in the Ecuadoran embassy in London to avoid arrest or behind bars.
He had been detained at Belmarsh, a security prison in the United Kingdom, since April 2019 after British authorities arrested him in the embassy.
The DOJ had accused Assange of working with former U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, formerly known as Bradley Manning, in order to steal and disclose classified documents.
He was released from the British prison in June, as Breitbart News reported.
Assange returned to Australia and since then has not publicly commented on his legal woes or his years behind bars.
He has been seen infrequently, appearing at a court in the Marianas Islands, reuniting with his wife on arrival at a Canberra airport and spending time with his family on a quiet beach in Australia.
“Julian Assange is still in recovery following his release from prison,” WikiLeaks said on Wednesday, noting he would attend the Council of Europe “session in person due to the exceptional nature of the invitation”.
The Council of Europe is an international organisation that brings together the 46 signatory states of the European Convention on Human Rights, with little say over Assange’s legal fate.
Some legal experts believe Assange’s appearance could put his bid for a U.S. presidential pardon at risk.
“He’ll inevitably be critical of the US government on some level and I can’t see that as something that is going to be considered helpful,” Holly Cullen, a law professor at the University of Western Australia, told AFP.
“Even if he personally thinks that he doesn’t care, his legal advisers would say ‘maybe you need to be a bit more restrained until the pardon issue is resolved’.”

Encrypted messaging company Telegram announced it will now share user data with law enforcement to combat illegal activities on the platform. This massive U-turn in privacy policy comes after the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France last month.
Decrypt reports that Telegram, the widely popular messaging app known for its strong encryption and user privacy, is making major changes to crack down on crime in the wake of the recent arrest of its CEO Pavel Durov. In a post on Monday, Durov said Telegram will now share user data, including IP addresses and phone numbers, with authorities when users violate the app’s rules and engage in illegal activities.
The move comes after Durov himself was arrested by French police last month over allegations that Telegram was not responsive to law enforcement requests and allowed illicit content to proliferate on the platform. Durov paid a €5 million bond to be released but remains under judicial supervision in France.
Earlier this month, Durov criticized the arrest:
Writing on his personal Telegram channel, Durov expressed his surprise at learning he could be held responsible for the illegal activities of others on the platform. He argued that the established practice when a country is unhappy with an internet service is to initiate legal action against the service itself, not the CEO. “Using laws from the pre-smartphone era to charge a CEO with crimes committed by third parties on the platform he manages is a misguided approach,” Durov stated.
“Telegram search is meant for finding friends and discovering news, not for promoting illegal goods,” Durov wrote in explaining the policy changes. The Telegram team is now using artificial intelligence to make searches “much safer” and actively block attempts to find or share illegal content via search. Users who still try to do so “can have their IP addresses and phone numbers disclosed to relevant authorities in response to valid legal requests,” Durov warned.
With nearly one billion users worldwide, Telegram has prided itself on providing a secure, encrypted platform for communication. However, this has also attracted criminals and fraudsters who exploit that privacy to sell drugs, run crypto scams, share abusive images and more while evading law enforcement. French authorities allege Durov is also under investigation for using certain cryptography without permission in the country.
The crackdown comes as Telegram gains even more traction in the crypto space thanks to the rise of The Open Network (TON) blockchain that now powers an ecosystem of popular crypto games and tokens on the app. Telegram originally created but later abandoned TON in 2020 due to regulatory issues. However, independent developers have since revived the network, which Telegram is now embracing to pay channel operators ad revenue shares and power its in-app currency.

Argentine President Javier Milei used his debut speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday to deliver an enthusiastic condemnation of “globalism and the moral posturing of the woke agenda” and warn that the U.N. flagship Agenda 2030 is a threat to global freedom.
Milei introduced himself as a “libertarian economist … honored with the mandate of the presidency of the Argentine Republic” thanks to the “precipitous failure of over a century of collectivist policies,” marking a notable rift from many General Assembly speeches that amplify U.N. leadership messages on climate change, wealth redistribution, and silencing “misinformation.” Milei became president in December 2023, so Tuesday’s event was his first opportunity to address the forum.
Before delivered a list of damning facts about the current state of the United Nations, Milei applauded the institution for successfully preventing a third world war, the original purpose of its existence.
“We went from having two world wars in less than 40 years, which together took over 120 million lives, to having 70 consecutive years of relative peace and global stability,” he noted, “under an order that allowed the whole world integrate itself commercially, compete, and prosper.”
This “outstanding success in the history of nations,” Milei stated, brought about a prophecy in the Book of Isaiah, which the president, an avid student of Judaism, read to the forum:
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
But the U.N. “started to mutate,” he continued, and became “a leviathan of multiple tentacles that wants to decide not just what every state or nation should do, but how all the citizens of the world should live.” The current U.N. is “a supranational government model of international bureaucrats who want to impose on the citizens of the world a determined way of life,” he warned.
Milei then launched into a searing condemnation of the recent United Nations record, condemning its support of Wuhan coronavirus lockdowns and its support of totalitarian regimes:
This is how we have seen how an organization that was born to defend the rights of man has become one of the principal advocates for the systematic violation of liberty – for example, with the worldwide quarantines during 2020 which should be considered a crime against humanity.
In this very house, which claims to defend human rights, bloody dictatorships such as those of Cuba and Venezuela have been allowed onto the Human Rights Council with not even the least reproach. In this very house, which claims to defend the rights of women, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women allows entry to countries that punish women for showing skin. In this very house, systematically, they have voted against the state of Israel – which is the only country in the Middle East that defends liberal democracy, while showing simultaneously a total incapacity to respond to the scourge of terrorism.
“Crimes against humanity” is a catch-all term in international law for actions that, on a global scale, are prosecutable by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Milei did not single out anyone to charge with the crime, but the context of accusing the United Nations of playing a role in supporting repressive quarantines points to the head of the U.N.’s World Health Organization (W.H.O.), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who was reelected to lead the agency uncontested despite his egregious failure in contain the novel coronavirus or holding China accountable for its destruction of relevant biological evidence and silence as the virus began spreading in Wuhan in December 2019. Tedros’ current main project is the development of a “pandemic treaty” that would greatly empower the W.H.O. to act above sovereign states in the face of public health emergencies.
Milei also used his speech to condemn the World Economic Forum (WEF), a venue he has visited to share similar condemnations of globalism.
“What also hasn’t helped is the tutelage of the World Economic Forum, where they promote ridiculous policies with Malthusian veneers, like the policies of Mission Zero, which harm above all poor countries,” Milei told the United Nations, “to policies tied to sexual and reproductive rights — when the birth rates of Western countries are collapsing, announcing a bleak future for all.”
Milei predicted that the world is “at the end of a cycle.”
“Globalism and the moral posturing of the woke agenda have crashed into reality and no longer have credible solutions to offer to real-world problems — in fact, they never had them,” he declared. “If Agenda 2030 failed, as its own promoters recognize, the response should be to ask ourselves if it was not a poorly conceived plan from the beginning, accept that reality, and change course.”
The Argentine president concluded by summarizing the creed of his anti-collectivist, libertarian movement in Argentina.
“We believe in the defense of life — for all. We believe in the defense of the right to property — for all,” he listed. “We believe in the freedom of expression — for all. “We believe in freedom of religion — for all. We believe in freedom of commerce — for all. And we believe in limiting governments — all of them.”

An “excited” Jill Biden took it upon herself to announce Monday night the Pentagon is committing more than $500 million annually for research into women’s health.
UPI reports the soon-to-depart first lady revealed the yearly investment of U.S. taxpayer dollars at an elite Clinton Global Initiative talk alongside Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, in New York City.
“It’s a big deal. And it’s about time,” Biden said as she announced the funding. “We’re going to get moving on this.”
A statement from the Department of Defense confirmed the half-billion-dollar investment for women’s health research will primarily come through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, a Department of Defense program that receives funding for specific biomedical research.
It said investing in women’s health research is “critical” to meeting the healthcare needs of the more than 230,000 active-duty servicewomen and nearly two million women military retirees.
Biden said the research will improve the health of women in the military service, “which then transcends to all women.”
“So, I’m so excited about that,” she added.
The women’s health announcement came moments before the organization bestowed President Joe Biden with the 2024 Clinton Global Citizen Award, as Breitbart News reported.
“He’s provided a playbook for getting things done,” former President Bill Clinton said as he presented the award. “We honor him today, not just for what he’s accomplished, but for the way he has done it.”
President Biden, standing next to his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton, joked, “This is what you call being trapped.”

President Donald Trump was the first US President since Jimmy Carter in the 1970s to not enter US troops into new conflicts.
President Donald Trump is also the first modern-day US President to bring meaningful peace to the Middle East. One of the great foreign policy accomplishments of the Trump administration was mediating the Abraham Peace Accords.
During his first term, President Donald Trump made history when he organized and signed the historic peace agreements between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain in September 2020.
It was a spectacular moment in history! And it was largely ignored by the legacy media.
Trump made the unthinkable, possible. President Trump brought peace to the Middle East between Israel and several Middle Eastern Muslim states.
Trump also isolated Iran and kept peace in Ukraine.
So it really was no surprise that a gaggle of “security experts” and warmongers recently signed a letter endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
Kamala and Joe Biden have the worst foreign policy record in modern US history.
The Biden-Harris regime surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban barbarians. They abandoned Americans in the country, they lost 13 US lives during their insane withdrawal process. They paid off the Iranians with billions of US dollars. They emboldened the terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon. And they watched Russia march into Ukraine.
The warmongers and Deep State operatives in Washington DC love this. They’re itching for World War III and they know Trump will bring peace to the world once again.
They can’t have that.
On Sunday disgraced FOX News reporter Jennifer Griffin tweeted out that 741 security “experts”, warmongers, and retired military brass endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
What a crock!
The list included several of the same old warmongers who worked under Obama and spied on Trump before the 2016 election and persecuted him after he entered the White House.
On Sunday, author and security expert Kash Patel, the former Department of Defense Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of National Intelligence under President Trump, challenged ANY ONE of the 731 Trump-hating warmongers to a public debate on national defense.
They could make it a charity and give the proceeds to injured veterans. That would be fitting.
Kash Patel challenged these crazed warmongers on TRUTH Social.
Kash Patel: Only those born n bread on the teet of the Swamp would have the gaul to call themselves the national security experts of our time, continue the weaponization of defense, and seek a return to the ‘norms’ of Govt with @KamalaHQ… newsflash- your are everything wrong with Washington. Thanks for sending us your names.
Anyone on that list who wants to publicly debate what actual national security looks like, I’ll be in @realDonaldTrump’s America First in Anytown, USA.

Social media platform X says it is moving to comply with demands issued by Brazil’s Supreme Court in hopes of reversing a nationwide ban ordered by Justice Alexandre de Moraes last month.
For nearly three weeks, X has been inaccessible to Brazilian users. Using a VPN to access the site carries the threat of a fine of almost $9,000. That’s after de Moraes, the country’s top judge, banned the platform for failing to censor accounts that “spread disinformation.”
The platform's owner Elon Musk, a vocal advocate of free speech, has until now refused to back down, describing de Moraes’ orders as an attempt to censor voices on his platform and calling the justice “an evil dictator cosplaying as a judge.”
However, on Friday, X’s legal representatives announced that the platform has taken steps to comply with the Brazilian court’s demands to help resolve the impasse and get the ban on the site lifted.
These steps include paying the fines X owes, blocking the accounts that de Moraes had previously accused of propagating misinformation and of undermining Brazilian democracy, and naming a legal representative in the country.
Under Brazilian law, in order to operate in the country, foreign companies are required to have a representative who would assume all the legal responsibilities of the firm locally. X had such a representative until mid-August when it decided to close its offices and fire all its staff in the country. That was after Musk claimed that de Moraes threatened to arrest the company’s legal representative if X did not adhere to court orders.
On Saturday, Brazil’s Supreme Court confirmed X’s moves and gave the company five days to file all the necessary paperwork validating its new legal representative. It also reiterated its orders to block the accounts that had previously been indicated in a probe into hate speech and misinformation, and to pay fines totalling over $3 million. It’s unclear which particular accounts have been targeted, as the probe is confidential.
The dispute between Musk and Brazilian authorities began in April when de Moraes ordered X to delete the accounts of several supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro, calling them “digital militants” who spread “disinformation” about himself and the court. Musk refused, saying this would violate Brazilian laws.

In 2020 it was 51 lying Intelligence Officials who were quarterbacked by Anthony Blinken to pull off the greatest Election Fraud in American History. It has now been determined that several of the 51 were actually CIA Contractors when they signed the 51 Intel Officer letter that was replete with fictional statements that broached the 18USC1001 statute on False Statements by Federal Officials. I would suggest that they were not “contractors”, this mischaracterization is a willful canard. When retired or former officials come back to advise Government, they are often serving in positions as “Special Government Employees”. An SGE is a “deputized and sworn” Government Official so they are absolutely subject to 18USC1001. So far, a weaponized Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation has done nothing to hold them accountable and protect the Republic.
The Scam went so well in 2020, that the Harris Team has now mobilized a replay of absurd proportions. Now 741 officials, some of them former Trump Officials have signed this letter. Most of the names are forgettable wannabe’s who are trying to stay relevant in the Swamp. Then you have low life’s like Jeremy Bash who is a repeat offender, being an alumni of of the 51 Intel Officer. Jeremy Bash is also married to Dana Bash of CNN.
You have whale dung, the mud on the bottom of the ocean the whale dung is resting on, several layers of sediment collected over the ages, and then you have these pathetic Swamp Creatures. We now have a definitive list of who to charge for destroying any semblance of an effective and constitutionally focused national security environment. The world is on fire, these cretins recklessly created the conditions for this world on fire, and now they want back into office to fix what they’ve broken. They caused this disaster, but their hysterical obsession is ensuring Trump does not return to office to actually fix things.
Why do they do it? Early on in their careers, these officials learn really quickly – delivering solutions and solving complex problems is not the goal. Enabling long term perpetuation of the problem is the game. In their heart of hearts, the 741 are terrified that their evil wrongdoing will be found out and a reconstituted Department of Justice will pursue them just like they’ve done to many others. What are the reasons they do what they do?:
Pressure to conform: At one time, Generals, Admirals, and senior civilian national security officials were the keepers of all that was good and right in America. They were never perfect and always had human faults, but there was a clear Judeo-Christian heritage and value system. This is no longer true.
In many ways it was Admiral Mullen and Secretary of Defense Gates who breached the firewall by allowing any behavior to become normalized during the Obama era. This is not a judgement of any lifestyle – just the observation that they opened to gates to “anything goes” to de-stabilize America and satisfy the secular progressives, i.e. the Communists.
Mullen did not defend the military institution from politicization, he made it clear he would conform the military institution to the social engineering policies and attitudes of an Administration.
Part of this conformance established by Mullen was the parroting of common public talking points to align with one party and criticize the other in a coordinated fashion, i.e. the fraud of the 51 Intel Officer Letter and now the 741 National Security Officials. The process of selection, inclusion, and retention into the national security club became ideological, not merit based.
The Nation is at it’s greatest danger ever since World War II. A peacetime cult has developed that is obsessed with perpetuating dysfunction and will fight change ferociously. This group would never have accepted General Patton from WWII or General Grant from the Civil War into their midst. The Chief of Naval Operations has told the Navy to get ready for conflict with China by 2027. The problem is the conflict has already started.
Post-Service search for significance and continuation of their status: Many retired national security officials spend their retired time searching for significance by extending their status into new and higher levels of service. Retired pay may be reasonable, but it’s not enough to pay for college for their children and grandchildren.
Pressure to be relevant: A number of these officials try to stay competitive, and go overboard to make sure they are seen, heard, and receive attention. They know they have to compete with their peers and want to make sure they are noticed, kind of like when they were in office.
The Holy Grail of Board Positions: Corporate board positions are the crown jewel of what many officials are looking for. Many of these corporate boards trend toward allegiance to big government and cancel culture.
The Double Crown of Think Tank Seats: This is an equivalent crown jewel to a board position. A seat at the Atlantic Council or the Center for Strategic and International Studies as a senior expert on “Dis-Information” along with a prestigious board position is considered the Mt. Olympus of post military service.
Political Appointments: Another way to continue service and visibility are Presidential appointments. Former officials are often preening for these appointments.
Salvage Declining Brand Image: The former officials realize their vaunted reputations fade fast. This pushes them to extremes of behavior.
Top Secret Clearances: One of the unspoken perks desired and sought after are the retention of clearances. Clearance slots are expensive and complicated—but can be charged back through overhead charges to the Government.
There is a sickness inside the national security community and the 741 national security officials are part of the problem, not part of the solution. The Republic is in its darkest hour from enemies within and without.

The NFL claims to have engaged in a “nonpartisan” get-out-the-vote effort for the 2024 election, but a look at its list of partners reveals that it has only teamed up with organizations that promote left-wing candidates and causes.
On its NFL Votes webpage, the league explains that the effort, launched in 2020, is a “league-wide, nonpartisan initiative that supports and encourages civic engagement among NFL players, and legends, club and league personnel, and fans.”
The campaign, co-sponsored with the left-wing NFL Players Association, “focuses on three key components of the electoral process: voter education, voter registration, and voter activation,” the league adds.
But, as The Federalist notes, the NFL’s GOTV partners include some of the most left-wing activist organizations in operation.
It sounds all well and good until one scrolls down to the partners’ section. There, fans will find that the league is working with I Am a Voter, Rock the Vote, Rise to Vote, Vet the Vote, and Votolatino. All of these groups, though they claim to be “nonpartisan,” have a history of pushing left-wing candidates and causes almost exclusively, not to mention being manned, chaired, and founded by leftists.
The oldest of the groups is Rock the Vote, which started in 1990 and was a big supporter of Barack Obama and his causes — especially Obamacare. Its leadership is filled to the brim with Obama operatives, Democrat donors, and left-wingers.
Then there is Voto Latino Action Fund. This group was launched in 2013 and is closely connected to Left-wing “squad” member and Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. Also, Obama administration Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro is listed as a senior adviser.
I Am A Voter is another far-left group, this one filled with Hollywood leftists including extremist actress Debra Messing, who along with fashion industry notable and leftist Mandana Dayani, founded the group. I Am A Voter has never supported any moderate or conservative Republican candidate.
Another group the NFL has partnered with for its “nonpartisan” effort is Rise to Vote, an organization that has made millions by posing as the go-to voter registration organization for much of America’s professional sports sector.
The group’s board includes far left-wing NBA commissioner Adam Silver, “women’s empowerment” activist Gabrielle Raymond McGee, LeBron James business partner Maverick Carter, Michigan’s Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Black Lives Matter pusher and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and a host of other left-wingers.
None of these organizations has conservative or Republican members on its boards, and it has not supported Republican or conservative causes or candidates. Yet, the NFL still calls this effort and its partners “nonpartisan.”

The US Commerce Department may impose restrictions on the use of Chinese and Russian software in so-called connected vehicles, or cars with access to the internet, cloud services, or navigation systems. According to reports by Reuters and Bloomberg citing government sources over the weekend, the ban could be announced as soon as on Monday.
Most modern cars can be considered connected, as they have onboard network hardware that allows internet access and data sharing with devices both inside and outside the vehicle. According to the reports, US officials consider connected vehicles potential targets for hacking, which could be achieved through intercepting the vehicle’s communication with software systems. The ban would presumably prevent China or Russia from hacking the cars or tracking them.
The measure would reportedly largely focus on software, but include some restrictions on Chinese- and Russian-made vehicle hardware as well, sources claimed. Apart from connected vehicles, it would also reportedly include autonomous cars.
Two sources told Reuters that the regulation would completely ban the import and sale of vehicles from China with communications or automated driving system software or hardware.
The news comes on the heels of a probe ordered earlier this year by US President Joe Biden. In February, Biden urged the Commerce Department to investigate potential risks posed by Chinese vehicle imports to national security. The White House explained that connected vehicles “collect large amounts of sensitive data on their drivers and passengers (and) regularly use their cameras and sensors to record detailed information on US infrastructure.”
While the results of the investigation have not yet been made public, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo followed up in May, claiming that the risks posed by foreign software or hardware in connected vehicles were significant.
“You can imagine the most catastrophic outcome theoretically if you had a couple million cars on the road and the software were disabled,” she argued.
According to the recent reports, Commerce plans to announce the new ban on Monday, but will give the public 30 days to comment on the measure before finalizing it.
The news comes a little over a week after Washington hiked tariffs on billions of dollars’ worth of Chinese imports, targeting goods such as electric vehicles and semiconductors. The duties on some goods were hiked to 100%, and were met with outrage from Beijing, which slammed them as a “form of bullying.” Washington also placed sanctions on numerous goods and products from Russia following the of the start of the Ukraine conflict. Moscow has repeatedly denounced the curbs as illegal, and responded with a number of its own restrictions.

World leaders at the United Nations Summit have officially adopted the so-called “Pact for the Future,” a sweeping agreement that purportedly aims to address the world’s most pressing issues.
However, beneath its glossy promises lies a dangerous move towards centralized, top-down control that could have devastating consequences for individual freedoms, national sovereignty, and democratic governance.
The Pact, hailed by the UN Secretary-General as a “vision for the future,” includes initiatives like the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations.
But for many, this reads more like a manifesto for totalitarian governance than a collaborative effort to improve international cooperation. This grandiose Pact is being marketed as the solution to the problems of tomorrow, but critics are rightfully sounding alarms over its deeply troubling implications.
One user wrote, “This international order is irredeemably corrupt and has pernicious aspirations. What they offer is global thecnocratic totalitarianism. We must resist this with all we have within us!! Sic semper tyrannis!!”
Another wrote, “The Pact for the Future has been adopted. More UN bureaucracy, more international funds to maintain, more global summits, more climate policy and more genderism. Less sovereignty, less efficiency. Instead of focusing on peace, the UN is pushing the world into the false hope of a paradise of “global governance.”
Another commented, Pact for the future is the pact to enslave, remove borders, destroy sovereignty, give all to 1% of the world. The UN is the most dangerous org on the earth and people must demand their countries divest and dismantle the UN.”
The Global Digital Compact presents itself as a framework for digital cooperation and AI governance. But what it truly represents is an unprecedented attempt by unelected bureaucrats at the UN to gain control over the internet and the data of billions of people worldwide.
Hidden behind promises of “digital safety” and “human rights” is a commitment to centralize control of online content, allowing governments and global tech elites to dictate what is acceptable speech, effectively silencing dissent and curbing free expression.
Equally concerning are the Pact’s provisions on sustainable development and climate change, which essentially function as a Trojan horse for economic control.
The agreement calls for a reform of international financial institutions, granting more influence to developing countries. But in practice, this could lead to a redistribution of wealth and resources from prosperous nations to corrupt regimes with little regard for the rights or well-being of their citizens.
According to the press release:
“The Pact for the Future, the Global Digital Compact, and the Declaration on Future Generations open the door to new opportunities and untapped possibilities,” said the Secretary-General during his remarks at the opening of the Summit of the Future. The President of the General Assembly noted that the Pact would “lay the foundations for a sustainable, just, and peaceful global order – for all peoples and nations.”
The Pact covers a broad range of issues including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, gender, youth and future generations, and the transformation of global governance. Key deliverables in the Pact include:
In the area of peace and security
The most progressive and concrete commitment to Security Council reform since the 1960s, with plans to improve the effectiveness and representativeness of the Council, including by redressing the historical under-representation of Africa as a priority. The first multilateral recommitment to nuclear disarmament in more than a decade, with a clear commitment to the goal of totally eliminating nuclear weapons. Agreement to strengthen international frameworks that govern outer space, including a clear commitment to prevent an arms race in outer space and the need to ensure all countries can benefit from the safe and sustainable exploration of outer space. Steps to avoid the weaponization and misuse of new technologies, such as lethal autonomous weapons, and affirmation that the laws of war should apply to many of these new technologies. On sustainable development, climate and financing for development
The entire Pact is designed to turbo-charge implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The most detailed agreement ever at the United Nations on the need for reform of the international financial architecture so that it better represents and serves developing countries, including: Giving developing countries a greater say in how decisions are taken at international financial institutions; Mobilizing more financing from multilateral development banks to help developing countries meet their development needs; Reviewing the sovereign debt architecture to ensure that developing countries can borrow sustainably to invest in their future, with the IMF, UN, G20 and other key players working together; Strengthening the global financial safety net to protect the poorest in the event of financial and economic shocks, through concrete actions by the IMF and Member States; and accelerating measures to address the challenge of climate change, including through delivering more finance to help countries adapt to climate change and invest in renewable energy. Improving how we measure human progress, going beyond GDP to capturing human and planetary wellbeing and sustainability. A commitment to consider ways to introduce a global minimum level of taxation on high-net-worth individuals. On climate change, confirmation of the need to keep global temperature rise to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels and to transition away from fossil fuels in energy systems to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. On digital cooperation
The Global Digital Compact, annexed to the Pact, is the first comprehensive global framework for digital cooperation and AI governance. At the heart of the Compact is a commitment to design, use and govern technology for the benefit of all. This includes commitments by world leaders to: Connect all people, schools and hospitals to the Internet; Anchor digital cooperation in human rights and international law; Make the online space safe for all, especially children, through actions by governments, tech companies and social media; Govern Artificial Intelligence, with a roadmap that includes an International Scientific Panel and a Global Policy Dialogue on AI; Make data more open and accessible, with agreements on open-source data, models, and standards; This is also the first global commitment to data governance, placing it on the UN agenda and requiring countries to take concrete actions by 2030. Youth and future generations
The first ever Declaration on Future Generations, with concrete steps to take account of future generations in our decision-making, including a possible envoy for future generations. A commitment to more meaningful opportunities for young people to participate in the decisions that shape their lives, especially at the global level. Human rights and gender
A strengthening of our work on human rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women. A clear call on the need to protect human rights defenders. Strong signals on the importance of engagement of other stakeholders in global governance, including local and regional governments, civil society, private sector and others. There are provisions across the Pact and its annexes for follow-up action, to ensure that the commitments made are implemented.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker placed #11 on the NFL Players Association’s (NFLPA) Top 50 Player Sales List, one spot above teammate Travis Kelce, for the player with the highest sales of officially licensed NFL player merchandise from March 1 to May 31, 2024.
According to the NFLPA, the merchandise includes everything from jerseys to bobbleheads:
This comprehensive list includes data from online and traditional retail outlets as reported by more than 80 NFLPA licensees and is the only verified ranking of all officially licensed NFL player products. The products range from adult and youth game jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, bobbleheads, plush toys, socks, face coverings, headbands, figurines, wall decals, backpacks, pennants, photos, drinkware, pet products, and more.
Kelce, who came in at #12 on the list, also saw “high demand” in the “Party Animal’s collectible figurines and squishy toys” category, the NFLPA found, possibly due to celebrity girlfriend Taylor Swift’s devoted influence, and her fans, who boosted Kelce’s merchandise sales by 400 percent last season. Swift bowed to left-wing pressure after the presidential debate and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in September, which caused the Harris campaign to quickly employ Taylor Swift-themed billboards to appeal to voters and created a flurry of celebrity support of Swift’s endorsement message on Instagram, including a “like” from WNBA star rookie Caitlin Clark.
Butker made his debut on the sales list, after he made headlines for defending Christian values during a commencement speech in March, where he spoke against abortion and gender ideology. He also celebrated motherhood, telling the young women in the room, “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
Calls for the Chiefs to fire Butker came soon after the commencement speech, citing his “harmful” and “dehumanizing” remarks. Celebrities such as Maria Shriver, Hoda Kotb, and Flava Flav condemned the speech. Taylor Swift fans united to surmise that Swift’s song “The Smallest Man That Ever Lived” must be about Butker. The NFL distanced themselves from Butker’s speech, with the NFL’s chief diversity and inclusion officer making it clear that Butker’s “views are not those of the NFL as an organization.”
Despite the best efforts of Butker’s detractors, the kicker’s NFL jersey sales had already started to climb by May, with Fanatics labeling Butker’s jerseys as Most Popular in Jerseys.
Notably, Houston Texans’ star quarterback C.J. Stroud, who proudly praises God for his successes, telling Fox News in 2023 that “it’s about Him and His glory,” was ranked #1 on the merchandise sales list, with the NFLPA declaring, “C.J. Stroud Dominates Player Sales Heading into Second Season.”

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has blamed the U.S. government for the current cartel turf war that is terrorizing residents of the state of Sinaloa. The politician claimed that if U.S. authorities had not worked to arrest one of the Sinaloa Cartel’s top leaders, the country would be at peace.
The comments come as the state of Sinaloa is ground zero for a fierce turf war between the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel and the faction loyal to the family of recently arrested kingpin Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada. The turf war has led to dozens of murders and countless more abductions.
During one of his daily news conferences this week, a reporter asked if the U.S. government was responsible for the violence.
“Yes, of course they are,” Lopez Obrador replied. “For having carried out that operation. They need to internalize that they can’t just act like that without taking into account Mexico’s government.”
Lopez Obrador claimed that there was an accord between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Chapitos faction so that Joaquin Guzman Lopez could surrender and capture Zambada. The Mexican politician questioned why the USDOJ changed the detention status of Ovidio Guzman, one of the members of the Chapitos, at the same time that his brother was helping capture Zambada.
“If we are facing this situation in Sinaloa it is because they took that decision,” Lopez Obrador said. “In Sinaloa, we didn’t have the violence that we have now.”
As Breitbart Texas has been reporting, on July 25, the Chapitos captured Zambada during a meeting with top politicians in Sinaloa. They put him in a plane that landed near El Paso, Texas, where U.S. authorities were waiting for him. Since the arrest, there was a short period of tense peace as both factions prepared and on September 9 both factions began openly fighting. While Mexico’s government has only confirmed 48 fatalities, unofficial accounts point to a much higher figure, which brought this part of Mexico to a complete standstill.
