Today decided to have lunch at Potbelly in the Lombard area. Despite a "mask recommended" sign on the door: all but one employee were maskless, all the plexiglass is gone, and even the hand sanitizer station at the door was gone. Most customers were free-breathing as well including some nursing staff out on their lunch break.
Continued observations that most here don't care about "muh delta variant".
A thought occurred to me in the shower: what if the white hats are pushing DeSantis and co to do this lately as a test of how much the people have awakened so far? Will there be an uptick in people getting it over the next couple weeks or will people get even angrier than before and in bigger numbers leading to protests like we're seeing in France and England and such right now? Just wondering since I hadn't seen anyone else bring up that possibility given all the other ways we try to read things as comms and such.
So the Missus works in a pharmacy and this has been grinding her gears: the Biden Admin has somehow been pushing retail pharmacies to stay open an hour later than normal on Fridays despite the rapidly falling number of people getting the jab at this point. She says last Friday they had a grand total of one patient come in to get it and this Friday they had ZERO. This is in a very blue suburb as well, it seems that even here pretty much anyone who wanted it already got their poison. I'm just unsure what narrative is being driven here as I haven't seen any MSM stories claiming that the declining uptake is due to "the pharmacies aren't open late enough on Fridays."
