Once upon a time, a famous Republican president visited a famously communist country looking for economic and diplomatic partnerships.
Just a piece of relevant 'trivia' for y'all, but usually these things get a headline in the media, and so far I've been looking and there's none (bar a footnote I saw recently).
MSM want us to forget that the Republicans started to sell out the US a long time ago. Just my two cents for what it's worth.
The russian embassy is currently in business as usual mode. Throughout all this ordeal, the russians never closed their Kabul embassy.
The chinese did close their embassy temporarily (moved to neighbor Pakistan), but just to wait out the turmoil: the CCP foreign minister had a meeting with top Taliban officials just a month ago in July (so it's obvious they're on the same page).
Both russians and chinese are currently pretty comfy with what's going on there.
Also: I bet the CCP is ecstatic about building an oil pipeline from Iran to China over Afghanistan now...
Can we get someone talking to the hotel clerk or staff to verify this?
Most importantly some security video footage?
There should be plenty proof that there was a kerfuffle at the location where it happened (either at the lobby or by the elevator, the corridor or whatever).
We need that proof, could be big in helping us strenghten the Symposium's talking points for optics.
