It nearly worked. I think that after sandy hook was the closest we ever game to massive sweeping gun control since the 90's awb. Not only that, but so many people bought new guns at that time it wouldve created a massive amount of newly minted felons if there was no grandather clause. The only problem was that not enough R's gave in (how the hell they managed to find a sliver of backbone in their bodies ill never know).
