We all answer to someone, our supervisors, our spouses, our customers. We are generally all able to see the truth. Thing is even if we stand nearby, there is a somewhat different perspective. Trust in God, yes. Otherwise, take everything with a grain of salt. My many years of experience seems to help for me.
