Lol, imagine trying to explain today to someone from last week
I won't have a dog. They are generally expensive to keep. They only last a few years. They generally get bored and destroy things if you allow them indoors. They require exercise and attention.
Here in Greece, the local farmers each keep at least one dog tied to a tree to scare away predators. It gets fed food scraps when available, and water, when they remember. A barrel is provided for shelter if there's no tree. The orthodox church teaches that dogs don't have souls so it's OK to treat them like dirt.
I'm not condoning this; just explaining the attitude.
I’m from Mexico. Same thing lmao. Guilty of doing this, here in the US as well, but dogs are happy
I’m starting to think anyone who owns a dog is an asshole.
People that own a cat or a dog are great people in general. Trustworthy, loyal and kind. People that do not own animals are self centered and greedy.
I don't own an animal because its guaranteed heartbreak in 10-15 years. Also, I have to interrupt what I'm doing to get up and relieve myself so often that if I add in getting up to tend to a pet, I've got no time left. So, good-hearted but non-pet owning person that I am, I watch videos of pets being cool, funny, lovable. Dude, you pre-judged me as self-centered and greedy, but I'm not.
I suspect an earlier version of you had pets aplenty. We all grow old. My dog, at this very moment is in very bad shape. I have to lift his 30 lbs onto the bed, grind his food, crush and hide his pills. Just this morning he looked at me with such love I felt humbled that he could muster the thanks through his misery, He may get better - he may not, but his time to go is not yet and we soldier on. I am 65 and have severe arthritis. I once was younger and less patient with another ailing/failing dog I had. She had a rougher time as I isolated her and I swore I would be a better person after that. Thank God for second chances to be a better person. Dogs are teaching gifts.
Your reply lets me know with certainty that you are a better person, and that ol' dog is so lucky to have you!
Take trace amounts of boracic acid for arthritis*. Also cider vinegar. And hydroxychloroquine is worth a try, too. It works with some autoimmune diseases.
*I dissolve one teaspoonful of boracic acid powder in a pint of hot water. Take a capful per day in coffee.
I don't have an animal because I'm poor. I'm sorry asshole
Are you going to come to my apartment to walk and feed my dog and give it well needed exercise while I work 8 hours a day?
