In the fog of war, I shall persevere. In the light of truth, I come closer to my God. In the fear of pain, I find determination to fight harder, stronger. In the tears of children, I resolve my anger into fiery strength.
I fight in the battle. I am here for the war. I will follow my generals, and lay down my life for my brother, my sister in the foxhole.
I am love, personified, ready to die for the innocent. I am truth, manifest, an expression of his Righteousness, despite my faults and limitations. I am patience; I can endure all things.
In the fog of war, I am resolved. And if I die, then at least, it will be glorious. For I put my fate in the hands of Him who made me, and I give my heart for those who need me, and rely on me.
Lord, let my aim be true. Let your faith be my faith. Let your mercy be my mercy. Let your unbending justice and unwavering righteousness strike fear into the heart of those who would sacrifice the world for themselves. Confuse their plans, undo their sight, and deliver us to live in your Holy Nation, one people under God, Heirs to your sovereignty.
In the fog of war, you are my strength.
Thank you for this soldier.
