Because the "progressive" left is mostly made up of severely unfit people, and healthy people (like me and my wife) are an affront to them. Our natural preference is to associate with fit people and attractive people, and the mostly dissolute, dissipated lifestyle of progressives is abhorrent to us. Every damned liberal I know is an unarmed, punk-assed weakling and wouldn't last 2 days if real trouble ever comes to America.

But look at it this way. If we had to round up masses of liberals, we could feed them with the corpulence of fat people.
