Anyone know who controls NG deployments in Washington DC under NORMAL circumstances? The MSM was very specific today CNN saying that Pelosi and Schumer called in the NG - I found that odd.
Trump in speech tonight specifically stated that he himself called in the NG to quell the violence at the Capitol building. I thought each state governor controlled their NG deployment within their own state and President can’t move in any help anywhere but can offer federal assistance to governors. How does it work in DC?
For the president to call in or order NG to the Capitol building do we need to be under some form of martial law or insurrection? Has he already invoked the insurrection act?
Thank you for your reply. When I wasn’t being called a dipshit earlier I did some research and found that the National Defense Auth Act of 2006 actually gave the President full authority to mobilize NG anywhere in the US with or without governor approval. Did not know that - I was wrong
Yes I got that asshat - that’s whybInasked how does this work in DC after explaining how it worked in states.
Not a nice way to treat a fellow patriot, sir.
Dude implied I didn’t know Dist of Col wasn’t a state. No worries though I found my answer anyway - the National Defense Authorization Act 2006 allows president to use NG anywhere in USA even without governors approval.
No worries. However I did find that since 2006 NAT’l Defense Auth Act President now has the authority to deploy NG anywhere in the US even without governors approval.
