Well that's the problem, that's not the sort of history any of us are taught in school, or anywhere.
Rich people get their kicks buying and selling hot commodities. What are the hottest? Drugs, guns, and people. What do you think they do with those people? We hear stories occasionally of upper middle class/upper class housewives caught using immigrants as House slaves. Rarely, but it happens. But we know human trafficking moves a lot more people than that (hi Roberts!). So what do they do with those kids/women/even men?
Not denying this, but new to the topic. Do you have any sources or reading lists for the claim about throughout history? I love history, so I’d find that very interesting!
You can get away with things when you have power and money and influence. You can keep it all nice and hidden from the public.
