Well chrome spies on everything so naturally firefox was a good alternative. Brave is better but has some compatibility issues with a lot of sites

on top of the chromium engine specifically which is under the hood of Chrome but not specifically, Chrome.

Yes, but still maintained by google and known inside and out by google engineers and has custom code injection built into the everyday compilers we use.
