Excellent point - We need to ensure it isn't used to enact more freedom-eroding technology. Frankly, the technology aspect is my biggest concern because I still see too many people who don't consider it a threat.
Along with that, people like Gates, Omidyar and Soros are very vocal about protecting privacy - like this is a positive thing. No - the problem is that the "privacy" argument is based on the assumption that they own our data in the first place. See how they do that? They skip the primary step - which is why our data is being shared in the first place. Buying into their "privacy" narrative immediately places us on their game board. We need to go back to square one regarding data collection and sharing period.
If Trump wasn't playing 4D chess and isn't out ahead of the events of 1/6; if he doesn't pull out a miracle between now and 1/20, then who exactly is going to ensure that?

I believe Trump is ahead of this game - he's proved it too many times in the past for me to doubt it now.
I hope so. We will soon see.
