I have closed my Twitter account, I'll be closing my FB accounts later this afternoon so my followers will see my note about it and start using my new social media. I don't want to be a part of their platforms anymore. I'm now using Gab.
Gab is the only alternative I've seen that doesn't require you to sign up just to look around a little, although there are others I haven't seen yet. They are Christian based.
They wrote their own platform, own their own servers, have their own app, and no censorship. Due to overwhelming number of folks signing on with them the past few days, their servers are sometimes overwhelmed during the highest traffic times or during their slowest traffic times when most of their users are sleeping, and they may shut a server or two down to make updates.
They are purchasing more servers as needed and have been working day and night to do the updates and install more servers. I expect they'll be really good when they have adequate servers to catch up with all of the sudden new, overwhelming amount of bandwidth they are facing.
They have features similar to both FB and Twitter with video channels available. I like them a lot.
See the video here if you want more info.

I have heard good things about Magabook, but I don't want to register with them just to look around a little. They do require registration to enter.
That is not true with Gab. Free for anyone to just look around without signing up. I see the registrar for Magabook dot com is GoDaddy. Unless I am mistaken, that is another possesion of the DS.
Gab has their own servers and wrote their own platform. CEO is good Christian man.
Yes I read the edit. Thank you!
Because people did at one time have to sign up to look at Gab is one of a list of reasons that they wrote their own platforms, built their own server system as well as their own multi-device compatible app.
The only drawback for them at this point I see is their temporary lack of server power that they are working day and night to correct. I forgot to mention that they also have video channels available.
