Yeah, I saw a promo for it pop up somewhere. I didn't believe it myself. Seems fitting though. I recall the old show "You Can't do that on Television!" on Nick. Hahahaha!
You're mistaken as to the reason why that game is on Nickelodeon.
First sentence in the article-
The Bears vs. Saints game can be viewed on CBS like many other NFL games.
Regardless of the ratings, CBS already paid the money to air the games and are showing the games.
The Nickelodeon thing is an attempt to get kids hooked early on NFL. ViacomCBS owns Nickelodeon as well as CBS Sports.
From the article-
"Our game plan is to make sure the NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon definitely lives up to its name by infusing the telecast with Nick's sensibility of surprise and fun at almost every turn," said Brian Robbins, President of ViacomCBS Kids & Family Entertainment, in a release. "We're incredibly proud to team up with CBS Sports and the NFL to elevate the thrill of this game for kids and families to enjoy together."
It's sad, really. I had a friend who started following HS football of his alma mater. This was back in 2006, and if I remember correctly he was center left. Cool spin. It's ratings... ;)
The game's still on CBS too.
There's no dispute ratings for all sports have dropped dramatically.
