In the article, they give 16 examples of how Trump supposedly incited violence and called for a riot, including 1 tweet and 15 excerpts from his speech on Jan. 6. Here is what the NY Times highlighted as proof of Trump inciting violence:

"be there, will be wild!" "fighting like a boxer with his hands tied behind his back." "bad people." "fight much harder." "You have to show strength," "you are allowed to go by very different rules." "if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election." "What takes courage is to do nothing." "it takes, again, more courage not to step up, and I think a lot of those people are going to find that out." "We will never give up." "We will not take it anymore, and that is what this is all about." "we will stop the steal." "we can’t let that happen." "if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore." "we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. … We are going to the Capitol," "try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country."

Then they say this in the middle of the article: "By contrast, he made only a passing suggestion that the protest should be nonviolent, saying, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Is this a joke?
