I’ve know about it for a long time, but I never really got around to looking into it. I could be wrong, but my understanding is basically that Q is trying to help the public & spread awareness about some really bad people who are doing some terrible things in hopes that they can put a stop to it. Now all of the sudden I’m seeing a number of Trump supporters talk bad and even being mad at Q. I’m just curious what Q really is and why some Trump supporters are mad at them now.

You are pretty much on the money the way I interpret Q. I've been a long time Trump supporter on TD.win and prior to that on Reddit but I've personally always kept options open to source information from elsewhere, such as Q's input.
In my opinion Q is a group of patriots with ties to the military intelligence, navy probably, laying out enough breadcrumbs for the plan to overthrow the cabal for the curious in us to follow and find information based on Q hints.
I'd actually be surprised if there wasn't military intelligence working behind the scenes answering to the POTUS.
