That’s great to hear. My wife and I have planned on visiting Australia for a long time and we were crushed to hear what had been going on down under. We were all “let’s spend a buttload or money to help their local economy after the fires and all that”’and just ended up wasting money on tourist visas ? Maybe someday though!

No, only some lefty controlled states, the worst one being Victoria. The Premier of that State, Dan Andrews, has signed on to China's Belt and Road, but the Feds are saying they'll block it for national security reasons.
Our Feds are conservative (or so they say), our Prime Minister has publicly stated in the past that we aren't going to be part of any Great Reset, I'm still hopeful that our Federal Government isn't completely cucked.
But at this stage, who knows who is compromised and under control of the globalists.

No lockdown where I am.
The worst lockdowns were in Victoria.
The other states used lockdowns as they should be, a few days here and there to stop the spread, but not weeks/months of lockdowns.
I'm very lucky to be in Darwin in the Northern Territory. We have never had lockdowns at all.
As an aside, we have a fairly large US Military contingent permanently stationed here in Darwin. We also often host US Air Force as well, I often see B2 Bombers flying around and doing exercises.
We also have the US Intelligence facility Pine Gap here in the Northern Territory.
Aus and US are very close and, God willing, we always will be.
