Disagree. The troops at the time were an untrained huddles mess, unorganized and untrained. Only by sheer luck and an unexpected move from Washington could they defeat the confused British. There is always a way for the people to fight back. You can organize, once all other alleys have been exhausted. You don't face tanks and such head-on btw. It's called Guerilla warfare.
