My guess it came from all those military agents speaking of "Cues" for years if not decades
"Are the cues ready" "What about those cues" "Drop the Q" "Where's the Q ?"

There's a character in Star Trek called Q who is omnipotent, speaks and acts in riddles and often puts the Captain through tests which teach him a lesson.
