Being an amateur radio operator, I don't generally see that stuff in the stores but I'm not looking for it either. It's hard to find that kind of gear at retail. There are ham radio stores but they are few and far between. The nearest outlet to me is Ham Radio Outlet in Delaware. You might call Best Buy or something and see but IMHO you'd be better served finding something that interests you on eBay and just clicking Buy It Now. Not sure exactly what checks the boxes on your checklist so I can't help you more than that.
