I'm pretty sure this guy is one of the soldiers in the book the only thing worth dying for. If he is they were experts at unconventional warfare and would have a deep dislike for Mattis after he refused to evac them after battalion dropped a friendly bomb on them while the taliban was on their way to surrender to them.
