Those rules only applied to people entering the rally. Maybe 10% of people made it within the fenced area to see Trump. I got in but it took 4-5 hours in line. They confiscated all backpacks (don’t know if anybody got them back either). Everybody was thoroughly patted down and metal detected. There were secret service on every visible rooftop for a quarter mile in each direction. It was like playing where’s Waldo trying to find all of them, would have been cool to have binoculars
