Can someone explain to me why Trump is pushing the vaccine?

I am somewhat new to this and everything is making perfect sense but one thing that is bothering me is why is the president pushing a vaccine that he must know is likely to be harmful and a not needed risk? Thanks

Im really behind on the vaccine shit, is it actually proven that it's harmful? I dont like to jump on the "vaccines cause autism" train lightly lol.
