Can someone explain to me why Trump is pushing the vaccine?

I am somewhat new to this and everything is making perfect sense but one thing that is bothering me is why is the president pushing a vaccine that he must know is likely to be harmful and a not needed risk? Thanks

Optics pre election stuff, plus it actually got people on the left to refuse to take it because orange man bad. He already knew most of his base are already skeptical of vaccines now the left is too. It is actually brilliant to be honest
