I'm native Californian so my family keeps me up to date on these things. You aren't lying.

I've never seen it in action myself and of course I can't say for sure that's what I saw last night, but it's the first thing my stomach and mind spoke to me. I've never seen a wind so strong and flashes of light but NEVER a thunder or crack or any kind of sounds. It could have been the power lines or something, I just kept seeing huge flashes of light, never specifically lightning.
