"When the good comes to bad, the bad comes to good"
"Now this red cap gets a rap from these critics"
"It's kinda sad when you don't know the meanin', but everything happens for a reason"
Plus the chorus, "I know why you want to hate me, cause hate is all the world has even seen lately."
Released in 2000, the song's main riff was derived from the original Mission Impossible theme, and was later used in Mission Impossible 2. Fred Durst also got Russian citizenship recently and is making Russian propaganda films, apparently.
I can't say I think the song was made to intentionally reflect what's happening today, but I also can't deny the glaring similarities. Bad coming to good, from dark to light. Red cap (granted, Durst is known for wearing a red NY Yankees cap). Everything happens for a reason.
Sorry if this is ridiculous, I just thought it was really interesting.
