“All of us can choose, by our actions, to rise above the rancor, find common ground and shared purpose.”
I thought rancor was an interesting word to use here.
Rancor means bitterness or resentfulness.
It’s also the name of the beast Jabba the Hutt kept under his palace that he tried to feed Luke Skywalker to... Luke used one of the bones of the victims to entrap the rancor’s mouth and then a skull to crush the control panel that opened the gate to come crashing down on the rancor’s head.
Essentially he used the monster’s own intended victims for its demise.
