There were lots of blackouts there recently so the tracking boxes might be down?
This, coupled with the big trainings in the south and AF1 jumping all over South Jersey (almost like it's a transponder error or distraction) makes me really wonder what's going on today.
The transponders now are ADS-B which is a satellite based system no ground based stations are necessary any more. Also if there was power outages the stations have backup generators as it is an issue of safety if flight if those systems are non-functional. Source am pro pilot
Intentional blackout. Usually happens when ops are in play that the military would rather people not see.
There are PLENTY here. I live near JBLM and it's quite busy.
Ughhhh no. It’s not. Fort Lewis in Washington canstantly has flights it’s a large air force and army base.
Are the super high winds still going?
Long gone.
Hmm power outages in this area too: https://poweroutage.us/
almost 470 military aircraft registering but none over the pacific north west... very odd plane behavior today.
https://poweroutage.us/ Looks like that area is still having power problems as well?
Nope not normal at all
Coincidentally, there's a lot of power outages in that area too.
Live in northwest WA, power outages due to wind/storm. Def weird though for no air traffic, usually a decent amount of Ft. Lewis.
Power has been restored to the vast majority.
So I said, what's so great about this plane?
He said "SIR! SIR! You can't see it!"
So I bought 'em
BIGLY
Jay Inslee and Kate Brown like pretty colored airplanes
Blackout. Transponders off.
Major power outages, I imagine what is tracking the transponders in the area is down.
