Motivation. You usually get them from a commander or whatnot. Used to say they're just too cheap to give us a raise so they give you a pretty piece.

You stay in the military for a few years and you'll usually have a nice collection of them... the cooler/prettier they are, the higher the pay grade of the person who gave it to you kek
