Except that knowing Christ and the free gift of saving Grace leads us to good works by the sheer fact of wanting to please our loving Father. We're still called to works, like the work of loving each other and sharing the Gospel. Jesus still had plenty He called people to do. Also, judging a President (or anyone else who isn't a Pastor)'s faith based on not hearing an entire doctrinal sermon from them seems a bit of a jump. The Bible itself says everyone who believes in Him and calls on His name will not be put to shame and will be saved. So let's not think we can judge the hearts of others when we know that's God's job.
