Signal uses encryption created by Whisper Systems, bought by Twitter. Signal rose to #1 app after Parler was removed and @Jack tweeted a screen shot of Signal at #1 to celebrate.

Now that there's technics issues...... like say tying in servers to start scraping messages at Twitter perhaps?
