I've been accepting defeat, that Biden will be president. Lots of cognitive dissonance for me, so I can understand them better if our Republic is saved. Try it.... only consume their media for a few days, trigger your own cognitive dissonance so you can better empathize.
That is not the right way to do it. Thats like the fallen saying you have to go through it and experience it to be able to relate to it. We are not so simple creations that we are incapable of empathy to those suffering.
Yes. Addicts can find support from other sufferers, but firsthand experience isnt the only way to relate or communicate with people. Plus, self-defeating actions can often become self-fullfilling.
My source on the technique is "propaganda" and "Crystalizing Public Opinion" by Bernays. In the chapters that describe how to resist being influenced by propaganda, the main theme is to "know yourself", and Bernays recommends triggering your own cognitive dissonance is the quickest way to diminish the effect of influencers.
Free thinking! Yay
So, just ignore all the election fraud then? Trump came out publicly stating it one night. He's going through all the motions. Biden is not going to be stepping foot in the white house.
Not ignorance, but expanding perception. I cited what I'm basing this on in other comments
That's like saying, eat shit so you know how bad it tastes. Anyone that's not dead knows how bad it would taste long before getting close enough to taste it.
All of us that have tried to talk to normies, some of us for decades now, already have experienced the cognitive dissonance by hearing their responses, if we haven't already experienced it before being red-pilled. And probably all of us have some corners of our lives where we are yet to be red-pilled and just don't know it yet.
Has not Trump said to be calm, and Q that the battle is spiritual as well? Peace is the prize, not the subjugation and degradation of enemies. We equally apply the rule of law not with glee, but with neutral duty. Triggering your own cognitive dissonance allows you to be more adept in countering demoralization (read Bernay's 'Propaganda' and 'Crystalizing Public Opinion')
Thats idiotic
Summarizing complex ideas you don't understand into an insult is a strategy that propaganda expert Bernays drecribes in "Crystalizing Public Opinion." The book says that Trump himself uses the strategy to anticipate his opponents. The idea here is to reduce the influence of propaganda, and the means is to understand your own cognitive dissonances. It's not a permanent thing, temporary
I don't need to watch one moment of anything on cable news to know the cognitive dissonance. You can feel its reverberations in the air every time you step into public.
I'm talking about your own cognitive dissonance. For example, think: "there was no election fraud." If you Know that fraud is rampant (as I do), then trying to wilfully Believe the opposite should generate the feelings associated with cognitive dissonance.
