Yeah, but in this instance Trump would have had to been in on it. And Trump only gained support - so what would be the purpose to take people that normally wouldn't have followed him (people like myself, since I did not vote for him in 2016), and then try to 'radicalize' an additional, what, 10 million people?

For what purpose? It would be astoundingly stupid, unless it was malignant on purpose. In which case, thats just evil for the sake of being evil.

Depopulate. Weed out ALL of you enemies and take them out in one fell swoop. Enemy gone and depopulation goals met all at once. I dont THINK that will happen, but i am not counting out that possibility.
