An interesting avenue would be to ask him if he's aware that people on the right hated Obama just like people on the left hate Trump. He might be resistant to the idea because of "muh scandal-free president" and because his media weren't telling him that... which is exactly the point. While the right seems to get what left wants, they just disagree, the left seems to have no idea about the right.
Or maybe simpler. Ask about Fine People Hoax. If he believes it (likely) show the entire video. Compare reaction to Capitol riots to reaction to antifa/BLM riots. Compare reaction to Russia collusion to reaction to election fraud. Point out how quickly and unapologetically the media pick a side and build a narrative. How always the left side is picked, apart from FOX, which kinda pretends it's on the right, but not really.
Ultimately, nobody can wake up while they are still believing the crap they're being fed.
Yeah, that just won't work. He likely has 100 reasons to hate Trump, and if you debunk one, it just won't register, cause there's 99 more. Even if you go down the list and debunk each and every one, each one just seems too insignificant.
You could try to get the guy to commit beforehand. Ask what's the WORST thing Trump said/did that he is 100% sure about and try to get him to accept that if he's wrong about this one, maybe he's wrong about the rest too. Only then debunk.
The first step needs to be breaking faith in MSM.
