....why do we assume the President has anything to do with them?

The mayor cannot call in the National Guard.
She requested the NG (wanted a few hundred unarmed). DC is not a state, and she is not a governor.
The President responded to her request with 20,000 NG. Then armed them. Then he declared a state of emergency to activate FEMA. Then called in more NG. Then added the Marines. Now over 30,000 and DC is a prison.
They are all under the command of Sec Def Miller, who reports to the President.
Yet. DC statehood is coming to continue to stuff HOR and Senate with Dems and further their radical agenda unimpeded.
Have the marines been confirmed?
I believe the DC mayor can.
But maybe the DC NG is also corrupt and she doesn't want more beyond the ones she picked. POTUS says womp womp.
The mayor can request them, but she cannot call them in. NG in Washington DC falls directly under the President.
Thanks.
The mayor cannot.
Thank you.
