Very few people seem to have any idea what the hell is really going on with the massive buildup in DC. And it is definitely making people sweat. As troops (and other security forces) pour into DC the tension just keeps ratcheting up.
There is no rational explanation for the buildup at this point.
The NG apparently even brought a field repair unit which is a big ol' wtf. Are they gearing up for a siege?
They're even pulling the riot squads from federal prisons to send to DC (it was on several news sites earlier - it's the reason the federal prison system is going into lockdown). That is real shit and creates a big clusterfuck potential in the fed prison system if it goes on very long.
Nobody has provided any answers that make a bit of damn sense.
Story is a thriller until the last freakin' page.
Technically a "component repair company". Basically if you break it, they can fix it.
To be fair here they do seem to just be going "send me everyone!" so it's not clear any of these guys have the kit they'd need to do a job beyond stand around with a rifle. So their unit designation may be effectively meaningless... at the moment. If they send those guys their tools it means they're parked in for a siege.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a field repair unit?
