This is a lot like my theory. I’ve got the rally/protest part being used in the same way.

But I have China in the mix. China forced the DS to rig the election so they could have their way. Donald won’t play, so they threaten a worse plague on the world. Donald warns them and gives China and the DS opportunities to back away, but they won’t. So now he’s got to deal with them, too.
