The cabal has known for some time how this was all likely to end, I heard they actually abandoned project looking glass - an advanced Quantum supercomputer that could be used to simulate future events BECAUE no matter what strategy they used they kept seeing all timelines converge on their eventual demise.

There is a clip from project camelot that was posted yesterday of an interview with an expert in string theory that worked on the project FOR the cabal to try and solve this problem. He was not able to.
