The "survival food" is generally low in calories and in critical nutrients. you are best served by going to the local grocery store and buying what you would normally eat, just but a bunch of it. If you need to use it, you are not changing your diet and upsetting your body. If you don't need it immediately, you skip going to the grocery store for a couple weeks while you draw down your stocks.
