The reason why the word "patriot" has become offensive:

The word "patriot" is offensive to the corporation that is the US by the Act of 1871, because it represents patriotism towards the original US that was a republic. The word "patriot" originates from the latin word "patria", which translates to "homeland, country". A corporation is not a country, because those two are legally distinct entities. Hence the word "patriot" is offensive to the corporation of US, because it doesn't represent support for the corporation.

The word "PATRIOT" is the best sounding "dirty" word in the world. Except for maybe fuck. Cuz that one is versatile.
