Good riddance!
???????????? Have a party !!! ??????
Do you remember when Frank Zappa and John Lennon performed together? Of course John's little Asian wife was there in the middle of everything screaming her ass off, thinking she was being so creative. Zappa's band improvised a new song titled Scumbag. While jamming to the tune Zappa's bandmates lowered a large burlap sack down over Yoko Ono while she was careful to take the microphone inside the sack with her so she could continue her shrieking performance.
Zappa and Lennon agreed to share the multitrack tapes from the performance so they can each issue the music. Lennon had Phil Spector mix his version. Spector essentially removed and covered up Frank's musicians with his signature "wall of sound" excessive echo and reverb. Zappa's version is much more enjoyable.
I don't know if Yoko Ono was able to keep the burlap sack.
A bit before my time, but I can see them giving Zappa the short end of the stick.
As much as a pos as he is, he made a few contributions to the music industry. He popularized brickwall limiting on a mix. I mean, he was high as shit and probably partially deaf, which is why he did it, but at least it's one thing.
Yes, he did have talent. No can can deny that.
Yes and Jimmy Savile realised that you could 'mix' songs using two turntables. Still a necrophiliac!
Ha, good point.
What does that even mean?
It's a main bus compressor technique for mixing music professionally. Smashes the music and makes it seem louder. Makes the voice seem huge and up front
Dead Men carry no tails!
Surprised the mods haven’t wacked this post yet. I tried posting about a Reuter’s piece on YouTube showing celebs saying what they’d do if they were president and it got taken down lol
Might yet. You never know....
